What happens when you look at an industrial facility as one integrated energy system — not just a collection of individual equipment?
At Schneider Electric's Lincoln, Nebraska manufacturing plant, World Energy Innovations (WEI) has been working alongside Schneider Electric to turn that approach into measurable results.
Phase 1: Heat recovery
In Phase 1, WEI led the feasibility study, engineering, controls strategy, and commissioning around a key opportunity: recover and reuse heat the plant was already producing instead of rejecting it.
The result: nearly 60% reduction in natural gas used for comfort heating — and recognition of Schneider Electric's Lincoln HVAC Electrification Project with the U.S. Department of Energy's 2025 Better Project Recognition.
Phase 2: Toward full electrification
Now, Phase 2 is under implementation, building on that foundation with geothermal energy and heat-pump chiller technology, with the goal of eliminating the plant's remaining natural gas use for comfort heating.
